With every type of floor installation comes the need to check the condition of the sub-floor.  Often there can be  a cost associated to sub floor preparation but it is a very important aspect of any floor installation.  As most people know when decorating a room if sufficient times and cares is not taken in preparing woodwork of walls properly then the end result is sub- standard, this is no different for floors.
